In this workshop, the following concepts will be explored and practiced. Moving actively from the 'core,' resistance exercises as a means to move into and out of postures, complete flow with no repeat tracks, and finally automatic pranayama which will increase circulation and create relaxation within advanced postures.
Master teacher Lauren Fields, (E-RYT, 500 hr) we will guide us as we warm up with the Spinal Synergy 'Nerve Tensioning and spinal traction sequence' (Meru panda mudras vinyasa) followed by the 'Spinal Movements Sequence' ( Meru panda vinyasa) During these movements students will begin to practice, as well as learn what it means to move actively from the 'core.' Following the warm up, students will be guided through an hour long flow where the body will be prepared with shapes and openings that will aid in workshopping the advanced transitions. During the flow, students will be given insight into the power of resistance exercises, as a way to both enter and exit a posture through the practice of complete flow. This means there will zero backtracking within in the pattern of the body, and instead will enter and then leave the posture in a different way.
