Shine Your Light: A Restorative Practice + Acupuncture to Honor Summer Solstice

Enjoy this special class that combines restorative yoga and acupuncture with Alesha Hanson (E – RYT) and Jen Ward (LAc). The complementary nature of yoga and acupuncture is reflected in their common goal of balance and healing. A synergistic effect occurs when yoga and acupuncture come together to increase circulation, improve breath, energy, vitality, sleep, release stress and connect mind body spirit.


With the longest hours of daylight, the Summer Solstice marks the peak of yang energy in the year. Living in harmony with the seasons is at the core of traditional Chinese wisdom. Summer represents the outward expression of energy, expansiveness, movement and activity. It is the best time to connect with the spirit of joy, to nurture our hearts and shine our inner light to those around us.

A restorative yoga practice creates the space to relax into deeply in supported postures for long stretches of time. Nothing to do, nowhere to go, just pure surrender to nurture the “rest and digest” nervous system and simply be.

Acupuncture is well known for it's ability to lower stress and restore balance and energy. The benefits of acupuncture can extend to a wide variety of conditions with the most common being stress reduction. Many patients commonly report a greater sense of lightness and evenness to their moods and better able to deal with life stresses after having acupuncture.

Alesha and Jen combine restorative yoga with acupuncture in a safe, calm environment and provide take home materials for continued self care practices. This workshop is great for people wanting to experience the healing power of acupuncture for the first time.
